Sometimes I make works of art that are NOT pretty. Case in point—this home painting for an Etsy client:
Sure, it looks like a house and looks okay-ish, but it is missing the je ne sais quoi (i.e. indescribable characteristic) that make a painting worthy of, say, a family heirloom!
This painting was so dark and dreary. I just couldn't stomach it. Before I decided to "settle", I ripped it up and tossed it in the garbage.
Here's the new piece:
Whew! Isn't this so much more cheerful?! It's so tropical and breezy--I'd love to vacation there. Hah, maybe in a few years, since I just got back from an extended vacation.
Which reminds me...my Etsy shop is open again for commissions! I'm so happy to be back.
Also look for 2021 calendars at the beginning of September :)
Hope you're having an amazing summer!
